~Still Searching~

Well, no such finding Miss Vogue yet~ We are still searching and
searching...going to drive through more neighborhoods today to see if perhaps
someone has found her and put out a sign. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Sunny sent me this most adorable gift, isn't she just the cutest thing.

Thanks so much Sunny, she's already in my siggie collection!

Hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend!

~Oreo is Home~

We got Oreo back from a neighbor's last night. She had be-friended a couple several houses down the street and they kept her and put out signs.

When we picked her up, we thanked them for keeping her for us and asked if she was well behaved. He said yes, and that she didn't jump on anything...I thought that was odd...since she's a springy little dog.

As soon as we got home, I could tell she's hurt. Her back right side is messed up but there's not any "visible" damage...no missing hair, scratches, etc. She's really favoring that side and can't jumo up on anything. She drank a good amount of water and then got into bed, in her spot and we covered her with her blankie.

After she relaxed a while, we got to look at her feet...her front right foot isn't in very good shape at all. She's got a pad that's half torn off and several of her nails are sliced down the middle. She kept trying to pull off that piece of her pad but we didn't let her...the vet can decide what needs to be done.

I wonder if she got hit by a car and just kept going?

We will be going to the vet the very first thing this morning!

We still haven't heard a word about Miss Vogue, my heart is breaking...I miss her so much! She's "my" dog, follows me everywhere, sleeps at my feet.

~My Pups Are Still Out There~

It's now Friday morning and my pups are still missing~

I'm just sick about it. I've made a flier and am going to get copies made and start putting them out. Have to get signs made too.

My Poor Doggies...

I came home today and the big garage door was open along with the door from the house into the garage...both dogs are gone! We looked for several hours, called the shelter and nothing. I called a couple of vets that are close by and nothing there either. I'm just sick about this!

As soon as we got into the house Meredith started asking where they are...just breaks my heart.

Please pray that my dogs come home safe, we are having bad weather and it's nighttime now.

Perplexed~
Josh has finals tomorrow and a key one for him is Science. He's in honor's and his grade this year counts towards his GPA.

He has Scouts on Monday nights and they are having the meeting tonight which is fine but he feels like if he doesn't go, he'll get griped at...yet again.

I have always said that academics come first in our home...nothing else. I certainly don't feel that he should be fussed at for not going when he's studying for school. Heck, I'm thrilled I have a teen that cares about his grades and it singes my rear when people moan about that!

I've decided that he can go for his PLC meeting and then "I" will be picking him up and if they want to gripe, fuss, moan, groan, complain, whine, be ugly or anything else they can do it with me...not Josh...gosh darn it!

I've been listening to this for weeks on end...one kid told him that "his parent's" didn't want him to pick Josh for another leadership position because he's missed some meetings...which has been academic related....grrrrrrr!

It was a low key here today~  I didn't sleep again for most of the night
last night so I stayed in a fog until around noon or so today.  I remember
when I was younger and I could stay up all night long and keep going the next
day...not anymore......I'll
end up with a migraine and my arthritis will usually end up hurting.

Meredith ate well at dinner tonight.  I cooked flounder, mac n' cheese,
corn, cornbread and watermelon...I didn't realize it was all the same color
until it was too late.  She didn't seem to care at all, she ate very well
and so did the boys.

Marc has hurt his eye somehow so he's got to call the doctor in the morning,
he tried calling his eye doctor and they haven't called back yet.

I had no idea Josh had so much laundry saved up for me to do...ugh...I'll be
doing laundry for days.  Where did he get all these clothes?

Happy Saturday Everyone! Meredith is doing much, much better today! Thanks so much to everyone that has emailed and signed my tagboard, I'll be getting back with you all soon.

We've been busy bees this morning, Josh had his Freshman Band Clinic today. Dropped him off at 9 and have to be back at noon to pick him up, he has lunch break until 1:30 and then back until sometime between 4 & 5. I'll be staying when I take him back to register him for band and pay all the fees, etc.

Marc took Meredith to the Scout store to get some stuff and then they were off to Target, her favorite store to pick up dog food and a new book for her.

Have to run, taxi is on call!

~The Balance of Flora~

I've never really spent even a brief moment thinking of the balance of flora in my gut or how important it is but I'm beginning to learn.

Yesterday morning Meredith threw up in the car after taking Josh to school and I really started to get concerned. Thank goodness Marc was still home because for some reason I just can't clean up barf...poor dh does it and I might add...doesn't complain a bit about it either.

We called her doctor, they wanted to admit her. We went to the hospital, got admitted and guess what...she didn't have any bowel movements or throw up for over 4 hours...maybe getting admitted was the cure!

At about 2:30 we asked them to release her since she was able to keep liquids down and they agreed.

We had a quiet evening last night. I cooked turkey/bacon wrapped filets, scalloped potatoes, carrots and watermelon. She ate potatoes, carrots and watermelon and kept everything down and has slept through the night!

We get test results back today but either way she's being treated for the C-Diff so hopefully we are ahead of the game.

Thankful Thursday

Wow, it's been so long since I've posted what I'm thankful for, time to get back on the right track again!

I'm Thankful for:

The Sunshine~

Hearing the birds sing outside my window by my computer, it's so neat to hear them wake up for the day~

Meredith's doctor's as they guide us through her current illness and treatments~

Josh who always knows how to make me smile~

Can't Sleep~

I've been up and down all night long checking on Meredith.

She started complaining of stomach pain last night just before going to bed and her bowel movements were worse than they have been.

I called her ENT who then called in someone else and they felt most comfortable admitting her to the hospital for iv fluids and possible iv antibiotics. She was already asleep (9pm) and since she was able to rest, I didn't really want to wake her up and haul her off to the hospital to be stuck with needles and then have her try to go back to sleep. Her doc said that was ok but that I needed to check on her every 1-2 hours during the night. She's slept through the night so far and doesn't feel feverish although she never presents with a fever. Her color is off, she's white and her appetite is decreased. She's also not drinking like her little normal self. If she still has the same issues after she gets up this morning, I'll prolly take her on over to the hospital, they already have all the orders ready to go so we wouldn't have to go through the ER and wait, etc.

It's so hard as a mom to know exactly what to do, do I let her sleep...do I wake her up and take her? I don't know so I've been up checking on her, listening to her breathe, feeling her skin, watching her...she's so beautiful, so sweet, my precious baby girl.

This morning has been rather busy~

Took Josh to the doctor for his sinus problems. Thankfully since they put him on meds last week, he's all cleared up now.

We had to take one of Meredith's prescriptions to a compounding pharmacy since it is only made in tablets for adults. They make it into pleasant tasting suspension for her...thank goodness.

Drove over and picked up the specimen jars to put the poop samples in for the cultures. I don't know about anyone else but dealing with poop makes me sick and of course she went as soon as we got home so I "had" to deal with it instead of waiting for Marc. She did enough for two of the jars and we are waiting on enough to fill the last jar.

I still have to drop off the rest of her records at her ped's office and finish getting scripts ready to mail off.

Never ending day isn't it, and we did all of that before noon.

Meredith has MRSA now. The culture showed to be sensitive to Bactrim. She was put on it for 30 days but it tore her stomach up and gave her the runs so they've taken her off of it.

She's now going to be tested for the C-Diff Toxin again, she had this last year after her treatment with Rocephin.

Hopefully everything will come back negative and they will be able to treat the MRSA so we can get on with our summer!

Josh is at Six Flags today, we bought him a seasons pass since he and several of his friends love to go there.

He's out of school next week, I will then be the taxi mom more than ever, I don't mind. It keeps me up to date on what's up in the teen world these days.

Is It Really Wednesday?

My goodness, where has the time gone?

Meredith went to the Pulmonologist yesterday and he adjusted some meds and added a couple more. He spent over an hour with us and answered all of my questions and concerns.

I'm now charting her symptoms and we will see him in a month.

Today we went to the mall and had a great time! Meredith played and we had lunch at McDonald's...she ate her hamburger and I was glad since she wouldn't eat breakfast this morning.

She came home and took a great nap and seems very happy today, which makes me happy too~

~Sunday Night Unwind~

Today was just beautiful here in North Texas! The sun was shining, the skies were clear and the temps hit about 73 or so.

We decided to get out for a while today so we took the train downtown and had lunch. It was so nice to get out and away from the house for a while together as a family.

Meredith did great the entire time, I was a little concerned about how she would do on the train but she loved it, especially when they blew the horn...or honker as she calls it~

I have to call the pulmonologist in the morning and give them a report, hopefully we don't have to make a trip over there, she's not very fond of having pulmonary function tests done.

~All is Quiet~

It's just after 8 here and everyone is still asleep but me.

There is no tv, no radio, no washer, dryer or dishwasher running.

I don't really recall the last time I heard the hum of the computer running, it's seems so loud right now.

It rained all night long and more is projected for today. We are only supposed to hit the low 60's for a high today.

Josh has a high school band clinic today but only for 30 minutes...I don't understand how 30 minutes is considered a clinic but I'm not the band director!

Meredith is coughing more mucous up, thank goodness. I honestly had no idea that she was that full of the stuff, I feel awful and like I "should" have known but gosh darn it she "never" seems sick...never runs a fever, never really complains about anything...she's really a sweet girl...mommy's girl...ok, well daddy's girl too...;)

We spent most of yesterday hanging out in the bedroom...reading books, doing puzzles, watching the wiggles and elmo. Neither of us feel good and are both fighting colds. I finally drug myself into the shower about 1:30 and then she took a bath after I finished my shower. After we were both done, we piled back up in the bed and she let me brush her hair for at least 30 minutes...such a sweet time for us.

Marc didn't get home from work until 9 last night and by then I was so tired that I handed his princess over to him and went to bed.

When I woke up this morning, I looked over and the princess was snuggled up with her daddy. A very sweet picture indeed.
